Tapster App Terms of Use

Effective date: 27/10-2026. Version: app_terms_2026_10_v1.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of the Tapster mobile application for iOS and Android, including related app features, account functions, wearable management, NFC-based interactions, and payment card provisioning flows (together, the "App").

The App is provided by Tapster AB, Swedish company registration number 559237-5165, Östermalmsgatan 26A, 114 26 Stockholm, Sweden ("Tapster", "we", "us" or "our"). You can contact us at support@gotapster.com.

By creating an account, accepting these Terms, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Relationship to other terms

These Terms govern your use of the App and the management of services through it. Tapster's online store and product purchase terms govern purchases made through the Tapster online store, including any digital add-on sold with a wearable. Apple App Store or Google Play purchase and refund rules may also apply to purchases made in the App. Nothing in these Terms reduces your mandatory rights under applicable consumer law.

Your use of the App may also be subject to:

  • the Tapster App Privacy Policy: https://gotapster.com/pages/tapster-app-privacy-policy ;
  • terms from your card issuer, bank, payment network, wallet provider, tokenization provider, or other payment service provider;
  • terms presented during a card provisioning, activation, authentication, or wearable-service flow;
  • Apple App Store, Apple Media Services, Google Play, or device manufacturer terms that apply to your download and use of the App.

If a third-party payment, issuer, bank, card network, authentication, or app-store term conflicts with these Terms for that third-party service, the third-party term applies to that third-party service. These Terms continue to apply to your use of the App.

2. What the App does

The App helps you connect, manage, and use compatible Tapster wearables. Depending on your device, wearable, country, card issuer, and supported services, the App may allow you to:

  • create and manage a Tapster account;
  • identify, add, rename, remove, or view compatible Tapster wearables;
  • use NFC or supported hardware to interact with a wearable;
  • start payment card provisioning, activation, authentication, replacement, removal, or related service flows;
  • view wearable service status, payment card status, instructions, support content, and related information;
  • buy, install, remove, and where eligible reinstall digital services on a compatible wearable;
  • create or manage a Tapster Share profile, where supported, and choose what it shows to people who scan or open your Share link;
  • access support links and Tapster content.

The App is not a bank, card issuer, payment account, wallet, payment institution, or financial adviser. Tapster does not issue payment cards, hold customer funds through the App, approve or decline card transactions, set card limits, decide whether your card is eligible, or control your bank's authentication requirements. Payment capability depends on third parties, including your card issuer, payment network, Fidesmo and related services, wallet or tokenization providers, and the merchants where you use the wearable.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least [16] years old to create an account and use the App. If you are younger, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

If you use the App on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and that they agree to these Terms. You are responsible for making sure that your use of the App, your wearable, and any payment service is lawful in the country where you use them.

4. Your account

Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account, except where caused by Tapster's breach of these Terms or applicable law.

If you believe your account, wearable, phone, payment card, or credentials have been lost, stolen, compromised, or used without authorization, promptly contact your card issuer or bank and pause or remove the payment card from your wearable in the App. You can mark a wearable as lost in the App to hide it from your dashboard. If you have a Tapster Share page, you can also lock the page and show your contact details to anyone who finds the wearable. For payment cards, your issuer or bank is the primary contact for blocking cards, disputing transactions, and handling unauthorized payments.

5. Compatible devices, wearables, and cards

The App requires compatible software, hardware, NFC capability, internet access, and a compatible Tapster wearable. Some features may require a supported iOS or Android version, a supported card issuer, specific card schemes, authentication methods, or availability in your country.

Compatibility can change over time because of updates, third-party requirements, card issuer decisions, security requirements, certification rules, or legal requirements. Tapster may update, add, restrict, suspend, or discontinue App features where reasonably necessary, including for security, compliance, operational, or technical reasons.

6. Payment card provisioning and wearable use

When you use the App to add or manage a payment card on a wearable, you may be asked to provide information, authenticate with your issuer, accept issuer or service terms, or complete security steps. You authorize Tapster and its service providers to transmit the information needed to perform the requested flow.

You agree that:

  • you will only provision cards that you are authorized to use;
  • you will not attempt to add, activate, use, remove, or manipulate a card, token, service, or wearable without authorization;
  • you will follow all security instructions shown in the App or provided by your issuer;
  • you will keep your phone, wearable, credentials, and authentication methods secure;
  • you will promptly report lost or stolen wearables or suspected unauthorized payment activity to your issuer or bank.

Tapster is not responsible for issuer decisions, card eligibility, authentication failures, transaction approvals or declines, merchant acceptance, payment network availability, chargebacks, cardholder disputes, or financial losses caused by unauthorized use of your payment card, except to the extent Tapster is liable under mandatory law.

6A. Purchased digital services and account binding

This section applies only to digital services purchased through Tapster's online store or in the App through the Apple App Store or Google Play. It does not, by itself, turn a service included with the physical wearable, a free service, or a service obtained through another channel into a personal purchased entitlement.

When you scan a compatible wearable while signed in to your Tapster account, and Tapster verifies that a qualifying service is installed or that the purchase is otherwise eligible for activation, the entitlement is recorded for that Tapster account and that wearable. For an in-App purchase, the entitlement is recorded for the signed-in account and the selected wearable once the store transaction is validated. Entitlements cannot be transferred. Keep the account you used for activation or purchase: possessing, selling, giving away, or scanning the wearable does not move your entitlement to someone else's account, and it does not move to a different wearable. If a purchase cannot be verified, or if more than one account claims the same service, contact Tapster support with your purchase details. We may require further verification before granting or restoring access.

If you ask Apple or Google to refund an in-App purchase, Tapster may share information about that purchase with them, as described in section 8.

A valid purchase does not guarantee that the service will remain available regardless of compatibility, third-party availability, security requirements, refunds, chargebacks, or mandatory law. A refunded, cancelled, or otherwise invalidated purchase may lose the right to use or reinstall the service. If a refund is reversed, the right is restored. Price, payment, cancellation, withdrawal, refunds, and statutory remedies are governed by the applicable purchase terms, app-store rules, and mandatory consumer law. Removing a service or wearable does not itself request a refund.

6B. Removing and reconnecting a wearable

To remove a wearable from your dashboard, follow the App's removal flow and present the wearable when asked. The App may require you to uninstall every installed service from the wearable, including payment-related services, and verify that removal with the relevant service provider before the wearable can be disconnected from your account. If the process is interrupted or cannot be verified, the wearable may remain connected; retry in the App or contact Tapster support. Removing a wearable from the dashboard is not the same as deleting your Tapster account, cancelling a purchase, or blocking a payment card.

After successful service removal and disconnection, a purchased entitlement described in section 6A remains with the purchasing account and the original wearable, but cannot be used while that wearable is disconnected. If the same account later reconnects the same compatible wearable and the entitlement is still valid, you can reinstall the service without buying it again, subject to authentication, provider availability, and security checks. Service settings, data stored on the wearable, and payment tokens may need to be set up again.

If Tapster Share is uninstalled from your wearable, or the purchase is refunded, your Share page is hidden at once and permanently deleted after 30 days. If the same account installs the service again on the same wearable within those 30 days, the page is restored as it was. After deletion, a new installation starts with a new, empty page.

If a wearable is lost or stolen, follow the App's lost-wearable instructions and contact your card issuer or bank promptly. Removing the wearable from your dashboard or deleting the App does not block a physical payment card or guarantee that a payment token is removed from a wearable that cannot be presented for verified removal.

Some services, such as Tapster Share and Tapster Drive, cannot be removed remotely. Where supported, they can be removed from the connected accessory, such as a Tesla vehicle. This may change over time.

6C. Information you choose to share

If you use Tapster Share, you are responsible for the contact details, profile information, images, and links you choose to publish. People who scan the wearable or open its Share link may see and save that information. Do not publish information you are not authorized to share. Information already copied or saved by others is outside Tapster's control.

If your wearable is connected to another Tapster account, or you delete your Tapster account, your Share page and its content are removed. The next owner of the wearable never sees your page.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the App unlawfully, fraudulently, or deceptively;
  • interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, decompile, modify, copy, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the App, except where mandatory law permits this;
  • bypass security, authentication, eligibility, geographic, issuer, or certification controls;
  • use the App to access, provision, test, or manipulate cards, tokens, accounts, services, or wearables that you are not authorized to use;
  • introduce malware or harmful code;
  • overload, scan, attack, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Tapster systems or third-party systems;
  • use the App in a way that could damage Tapster, users, issuers, payment networks, service providers, app stores, or merchants.

We may suspend or terminate access to the App or specific features if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, created a security or fraud risk, violated the law, or used the App in a way that could harm Tapster, users, or third parties.

8. Privacy and data

Tapster processes personal data as described in the Tapster App Privacy Policy. To provide the App, Tapster may process account identifiers, profile details you choose to add, purchase and entitlement records, wearable identifiers and status, service installation and removal events, authentication and security records, and information needed to complete card provisioning flows. The App and backend also generate technical information about NFC connections, wearable compatibility, installation attempts, failures, and diagnostics. Some support diagnostics are kept on your phone and are shared only when you choose to use a support feature. The Privacy Policy describes the data categories, purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention periods, international transfers, and your rights.

Refund requests to Apple and Google. If you ask Apple or Google to refund an in-App purchase, Tapster may share information with them about that purchase and your use of the purchased service. For Apple, this can include whether the service was delivered to your wearable, how much of it you have used, whether it included a free trial or sample, and whether Tapster recommends that the refund is granted. For Google, this can include whether the purchase included a free trial or sample and Tapster's recommendation. Apple and Google use this information to decide on your refund and handle it under their own privacy policies. By accepting these Terms and the Privacy Policy, you authorize this sharing.

Optional analytics and related crash reporting are controlled by a separate choice in the App. Accepting these Terms does not mean you consent to optional analytics, and that choice does not affect the refund sharing described above. You may decline or withdraw it without losing the App's core functions. Tapster may still process data needed to provide a requested service, maintain security, comply with law, or handle support under an appropriate legal basis, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Promotional notifications require a separate choice where offered, and you can withdraw it at any time in the App. Service reminders, achievement notifications, and other messages about your own account and wearables are controlled by your phone's notification settings and the relevant App settings.

Payment-related flows may involve third parties such as card issuers, payment networks, authentication providers, Fidesmo and related service providers, cloud providers, and app stores. Those parties may process data under their own privacy notices and legal responsibilities.

Tapster does not store your full payment card number. Card details you enter are sent from the App to Fidesmo and your card issuer over an encrypted connection to complete provisioning and tokenization.

9. Intellectual property and license

Tapster and its licensors own the App, including software, design, trademarks, logos, text, images, and other content. Subject to these Terms, Tapster grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal use and as permitted by the applicable app-store terms.

You may not use Tapster's trademarks, branding, content, or App materials without Tapster's prior written permission, except as allowed by law.

10. Third-party services and content

The App may link to, integrate with, or rely on third-party services. Tapster does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content, decisions, errors, security, or terms, except where mandatory law says otherwise.

Third-party service availability may change without notice. A feature working on one phone, wearable, issuer, card, country, or operating system does not guarantee that it will work on another.

11. Updates and availability

We may provide App updates to improve security, reliability, compatibility, or functionality. Some updates may be required to continue using the App or specific features.

We aim to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or real-time availability. The App may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, network issues, third-party outages, issuer or payment network outages, security incidents, or events outside our reasonable control.

12. Support

For App support, contact support@gotapster.com or visit gotapster.com/pages/tapster-support.

For card blocks, transaction disputes, payment limits, card eligibility, authentication problems, chargebacks, suspected fraud, or unauthorized transactions, contact your card issuer or bank directly.

13. Warranties and disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not promise that the App will be compatible with every device, wearable, card, issuer, country, merchant, or payment terminal, or that every payment-related flow will succeed.

Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

14. Liability

Tapster is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of data, business interruption, third-party service failure, issuer or bank decisions, merchant refusal, transaction decline, or payment network unavailability, except where such limitation is not permitted by mandatory law.

Tapster does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where applicable, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

15. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the App at any time. You may request account deletion in the App or through Tapster support. For your security, the App may ask you to sign in again before it accepts a deletion request, and you may first need to remove installed services and disconnect your wearables. Once a request is accepted, access to your account ends at once, and your account data and Share page are removed from our active systems through a separate deletion process.

Deleting your account may make account-bound purchased entitlements unavailable for future reinstallation; contact Tapster support before deletion if you need help with an eligible purchase. Deleting your account does not itself refund a purchase. Deletion and retention of personal data are governed by applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

Tapster may suspend or terminate your access to the App where reasonably necessary for security, compliance, fraud prevention, legal, operational, or breach-of-terms reasons.

Deleting the App or your Tapster account may not remove a provisioned payment token or stop a physical payment card. Follow in-App instructions where available and contact your card issuer or bank to remove, block, or manage payment credentials.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will give reasonable notice through the App, by email, on our website, or by other appropriate means, and the App may ask you to accept the new version. The updated Terms apply from the effective date stated in them.

If you continue to use the App after updated Terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

17. App store terms

For iOS users, these Terms are between you and Tapster, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranties, claims, or compliance, except as required by applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the provisions that relate to your iOS use of the App.

For Android users, these Terms are between you and Tapster, not Google. Google is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranties, claims, or compliance, except as required by applicable law.

Your app-store account, download, installation, updates, and use may also be governed by Apple App Store, Apple Media Services, Google Play, or device manufacturer terms.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection rules, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

Please raise disputes with Tapster support first so we can try to resolve them. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be submitted to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) where applicable, or to the competent courts.
