JUST TAP TO PAY

About Tapster

Tapster is a Swedish fintech company redefining how people pay. Founded in Stockholm in 2020 by Tobias Ericsson and Ludvig Scheja, the company develops wearable payment solutions designed to fit naturally into how people move through their day.

Carry less. Move freely.

The idea emerged from early explorations into wearable technology in 2015, as contactless payments began to scale globally. What started with passive NFC-enabled watch straps has since evolved into a broader category — including rings, bracelets and keyrings — all built around the same principle: payments should be simple and secure, without having to think about them.

Karl Hermansson joined early on, helped shape Tapster’s product and direction as the company grew, and became a co-founder in 2026. Tapster’s wearables use the same secure NFC technology as contactless cards and mobile payments, allowing users to pay with a simple tap. No cards. No phone. No batteries.

As cash continues to decline and digital payments become the default, Tapster represents a shift towards something more intuitive — payments that are always available. Today, Tapster works with global payment networks such as Visa and Mastercard, and partners with leading banks and card issuers worldwide — continuing to expand across markets.

Payments have stayed the same for decades. We believe they should be simple, secure, and just work - without you having to think about them.

- Tobias Ericsson, CEO and Co-Founder at Tapster
